Linda Laarman
Linda practices as special counsel, exclusively in employee benefits law. More than twenty years of employee benefits expertise enable Linda to offer in-depth focus in all relevant tax and labor law issues, including the pension and profit sharing qualification rules, the tax rules affecting plan distributions, health and welfare benefits, and executive compensation. Linda's knowledge and expertise also extend to issues under Titles I and IV of ERISA, as well as employment discrimination laws, Medicare Secondary Payer Rules, and mergers and acquisitions. Linda offers a practical approach, resulting from her varied experiences. She has been a partner in major Washington, D.C. and Milwaukee, Wisconsin law firms, has served as Associate General Counsel for one of the fifty largest diversified financial institutions in the world, and has been a principal in the national resource group for a national employee benefits consulting firm. She was Editor-in-Chief of the Benefits Law Journal for its first ten years. Linda received her bachelor's degree from Lawrence University and her law degree from The George Washington University National Law Center. She is a member of the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Wisconsin bars, as well as the American Bar Association (tax and business sections).
